SEOUL - April 27, 2022 - Avantor, Inc. a leading global provider of mission-critical products and services to customers in the life sciences and advanced technologies & applied materials industries, announced an industry-university collaboration agreement with Kyung Hee University Medical Center (KHMC) Medical Science Research Institute. The signing of the agreement, which took place at the KHMC was held with the aim of establishing and achieving common goals of strengthening core industrial competitiveness, expanding markets, and training researchers through the development of medical science and technology in Korea. Representatives of both parties including Sang Kyu Lee, Representative Director - Avantor Korea & Japan and Kyoung Sik Yoon, Director of KHMC Medical Science Research Institute were present at the event.
The agreement signed by Avantor Korea with KHMC Medical Science Research Institute include co-development and distribution of education content to train medical research professionals and donation of Avantor lab consumables to strengthen students and field researchers. Avantor Korea and the Institute will establish a cooperative system for the progress and resolution of research projects by both organizations and cooperate in operating promotional channels and academic exchanges that support mutual development. The agreement also stipulates that Avantor Korea will prioritize the supply of laboratory equipment and material inventory allocation when required, to the KHMC Medical Science Research Institute.

In recent years the company has formed strategic collaborations with Kyonggi University to support and contribute to the growth of the biopharmaceutical industry. Through the collaboration with Kyonggi University, we co-produced an LC-MS/MS webinar and provided lecture and sessions by Avantor for Kyonggi University students. We look forward to fostering future scientific talents, through collaborations with outstanding universities in the community.”
Kyoung Sik Yoon was very appreciative of the joint cooperation and said, “The institute will collaborate with Avantor Korea to find solutions to the issues and tasks the researchers face in the Medical Science Research Institute where six fields of studies co-exist, including medicine, dentistry, oriental medicine, east-west medicine, pharmacy, and nursing.”
